Spark Fitment integration
Let shoppers pick their vehicle once and see only the parts that fit. The theme is built to pair with Spark Fitment, a separate free Shopify app.
Spark Fitment is a separate, free Shopify app — it is not included in the theme. The theme is designed to pair with it, with dedicated slots where the lookup belongs. You install the app once and the theme surfaces it automatically.
What Spark Fitment does
Spark Fitment adds year / make / model (YMM) vehicle lookup to your store. A shopper selects their vehicle one time, and from then on your store filters and highlights the parts that fit it. It's the fastest way to stop shoppers from guessing whether a part works on their car or truck — and to cut down on wrong-fit returns.
Install the app
Install it from the Shopify App Store: Spark Fitment on the Shopify App Store. It's free to add. Once installed, follow the app's setup to enable YMM lookup for your catalog.
Where the theme surfaces it
The Spark Automotive Theme includes dedicated placements so the lookup lands exactly where buyers expect it:
- Header — a persistent "Shop by vehicle" entry point available on every page.
- Homepage — a prominent vehicle-selection section near the top of the page.
- Collection pages — a lookup/filter slot so shoppers can narrow a large catalog to their vehicle.
- Product pages — a compatibility area next to the buy button, where "Fits your vehicle" confirmation appears.
How fitment and metafields relate
Spark Fitment powers the interactive lookup, while the theme's compatibility metafields drive the on-page badges and fitment summaries. They work together: fitment data determines which products match a selected vehicle, and the metafields let the theme show a "Fits your vehicle" badge and a human-readable fitment line on cards and product pages.
Where the fitment data comes from
You can supply fitment data yourself, or let Spark Shipping populate it automatically from your supplier feeds — including the compatibility metafields the theme displays. That keeps fitment accurate as your catalog changes, without manual data entry.
Prefer not to use the app? The theme works fine on its own. Without fitment data, compatibility badges and vehicle-lookup slots simply stay hidden — there are no empty placeholders or broken layouts.
